Raider boys take second at own tournament

Benjamin Logan’s boys golf team battled wet playing conditions to grab runner-up honors in its own Raider Invitational Monday at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

Beavercreek won the tournament for the second consecutive year with a 286. The Raiders came in second with 327, Newton was third with 351 and Kenton Ridge rounded out the top four with 381.

Tippecanoe turned in a fifth-place effort with 386, Indian Lake came in sixth with 409, Riverside was seventh with 423 and the Raiders’ junior varsity team was eighth with 429.

Beavercreek standout Ryan Flick, who plans to play at the University of Dayton, fired a 2-under-par 68 to take home medalist honors. Teammate Dan Dexter was second overall with a 69.

Ben Logan junior Grant Ricketts finished third overall and led the Raiders with a round of 72. T.J. Fink carded an 80, Brady Bechtel shot an 87, Tanner Rader was one stroke back with an 88, Colin Headings had a 96 and Mitchell Fink rounded out the squad with a 99.

The Raiders’ junior varsity squad was led by Will Kenoyer with a 98. Jared Sater recorded a 108, Justin Watkins shot a 110, Connor Stewart carded a 113 and Tyler Smith had a 127.

Individual scores for Indian Lake and Riverside were not reported.

Ben Logan, Indian Lake and Riverside are all back in action today at Cherokee Hills Golf Course for the Russ Hogue Memorial Invitational.
