The DeGraff Commando Cows Little League team defeated Huntsville 11-10 on Tuesday to win the Logan County tournament championship. DeGraff wins county title
The DeGraff Commando Cows Little League baseball team defeated the Huntsville Warriors 11-10 on Tuesday at DeGraff Community Park to win the county tournament.
Unbeaten since June 5, DeGraff finished 18-2 on the season and outscored opponents 59-21 in the tournament.
In the championship game, John Zumberger had a solid start with three innings pitched. He had two hits and scored twice.
After rain delayed the game for a day, Garrett Gross closed and got the win for DeGraff. He also threw three innings and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
Levi Godwin went 3-3 with a home run and three RBI and Justin Ritzma went 3-3 with the game-winning double in the sixth for DeGraff.
Exchange Club downs Ridgemont
Bellefontaine Exchange Club handled Ridgemont II 15-3 in a recent Pony League contest.
Aaron Malarkey earned the win on the mound, while Phil Francis led the offense with a triple.
