Bellefontaine summer swim team sets records


Bellefontaine’s summer swim team recently kicked off its season with two meets.

Bellefontaine competed in a dual meet against Versailles on June 10 and in a duel against Troy on Saturday.

In the meet against Versailles, Bellefontaine’s girls won 212-166 and the boys fell 260-70.

Against Troy, Bellefontaine’s girls were victorious 207-168 and the boys were defeated 176-125.

Several local swimmers set new team records during the recent meets.

That group included Emily Fulmer in the 100 freestyle (58.41), 50 butterfly (28.16), 100 freestyle (58.43) and 100 individual medley (1:07.99), Shelbi Moore in the 50 butterfly (29.48), Skyler Tavenner in the 100 freestyle (51.10), 100 individual medley (59.16), 50 backstroke (26.49), 50 butterfly (24.91) and 50 freestyle (22.60), Amy Fulmer in the 50 backstroke (28.06) and Macy Arn in the 50 freestyle.

Versailles meet

Emily Fulmer won the open 100 freestyle for the Bellefontaine girls against Versailles.

Winning events in the girls 9-10 division were the 100 freestyle relay (no names listed), Morgan Henry in the 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly and Sarah Fulmer in the 25 butterfly.
