Riverside rallies in seventh inning to beat Ben Logan

Riverside’s Acme baseball team rallied from an early deficit to beat visiting Benjamin Logan 11-10 in a dramatic finish Monday.

The win improves the Pirates to 3-1 on the season.

Ben Logan held an 8-2 advantage in the third inning, but Riverside was able to claw its way back to trail 10-7 in the seventh inning.

In the bottom of the seventh frame, the Pirates’ Trey Lane hit a two-run double to score teammates Dillon Roof and Tanner Lane. That left Riverside trailing 10-9. Trey Long laid down a bunt that scored Trey Lane to tie the game 10-10.

With the bases loaded and two outs, Gavin Stallard hit the ball to the left-field fence to score Trey Long for the victory.

Offensively for Riverside, Tanner Lane went 2-4 and scored twice, Trey Lane went 2-4 with two doubles, four RBI and scored twice, Hunter Kreglow went 3-4 and Stallard went 2-4 with three RBI.

Riverside hosts Anna today.
