Bellefontaine, Riverside pick up Acme wins

Bellefontaine Easton Water Solutions used a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge visiting Xenia 5-4 Wednesday at Blue Jacket Park in a senior Acme contest.

Lane Kiser drove in Clay Wisner from second base in the bottom of the final frame to help Bellefontaine record the victory.

Xenia grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning, but Bellefontaine rallied with two runs in the bottom of the second to tie the game 2-2.

Easton Water scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning and another run in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 4-2 lead.

Xenia rallied to tie the game again with two runs in the top of the seventh inning. Kiser then came through for Bellefontaine in the bottom of the inning with his clutch hit.

Wisner recorded the win on the mound after relieving Connor Burton in the seventh frame.

Burton and Wisner led the Bellefontaine offense with three hits apiece.

Bellefontaine hosts Graham today.

Riverside edges Sidney

Riverside’s senior Acme team beat previously undefeated Sidney 5-4 on Wednesday to even its record to 1-1 on the season.
