Their journeys are unique, but they are united by the same final destination. The Chieftain trio of Jazmyn Haley, Brenda Johnson and Chantz Rose will compete Friday and Saturday at the OHSAA state track and field tournament in Columbus.

In the Division II girls meet, the Chieftain girls have senior Haley competing in the discus and junior Johnson in the shot put.

In Division I, the BHS boys are represented by junior Rose in the shot put.

Haley will compete first at 9:30 a.m. Friday, while Johnson and Rose will begin their events on Saturday. Johnson’s shot put event starts at 9 a.m. and Rose will throw at 12:30 p.m.

The top eight placers in each field event earn spots on the podium. The shot put and discus areas are located to the west of Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, next to the parking lot.
