The Chieftains trailed 6-5 when they rallied to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to escape with a 7-6 victory.
Brunswick came up big for Bellefontaine in the final inning by driving in the game-tying run. Moments later, she raced home on a wild pitch to score the game-winning run.
“One of the things I am most proud of about this team is their ability to pull together and do what needs to be done,” said BHS head coach Katie Buffkin. “I have such a great group of young women and it has been so much fun watching these ladies develop.
“Overall, we did not play a very good game. We struggled to make plays at times.”
The surging Chiefs push their record to 13-10 overall and 9-5 in the CBC, while the Falcons stumble to 10-10, 8-7.
Bellefontaine battled its way to a 3-1 lead after the third inning, but Graham scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning. That gave the Falcons a 4-3 edge over the Chieftains.
After a scoreless fifth inning, Bellefontaine plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to retake the lead at 5-4. Graham fought back to drive in two runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 6-5 advantage.
