Bellefontaine needs 14 innings, but takes down Red Devils 1-0

Bellefontaine made a second road trip to Tippecanoe in a week worth the time and effort Wednesday.

The Chiefs had to make a return trek to Tipp City to resume a game that was stopped in the bottom of the sixth inning last week because of lightning.

It took much more than an inning and a half to decide a winner.

With neither team able to get on the scoreboard, the game wore on through 13 innings without a score.

Bellefontaine finally broke through with a run in the top of the 14th and Tyler Jones kept the Red Devils scoreless in the bottom of the inning to give the visiting Chiefs a dramatic 1-0 14-inning victory.

“This win is a true testament to the hard work and discipline of our players,” said BHS head coach Art Caudill.
