Lakers stave off late charge from Warriors


Indian Lake’s baseball team held on for an 8-6 win over host Northwestern on Wednesday in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division action.

The win improves the Lakers to 10-13 overall and 8-6 in the CBC Mad River division. The Warriors drop to 10-14, 1-12.

The two teams were tied 3-3 after the first inning. Indian Lake drove in two runs in the top of the second inning for a 5-3 advantage.

The Lakers added another run in the top of the fourth inning for a 6-3 score. The Warriors then plated a run in the bottom of the fourth to trail 6-4.

Indian Lake added two additional runs in the top of the seventh inning for an 8-4 lead. Northwestern drove in two runs in the bottom of the seventh frame, but could not get any closer.
