Piqua handles Bellefontaine netters in non-league tilt

Bellefontaine’s boys tennis team lost to visiting Piqua 5-0 in a non-league tennis match Monday night.

The Chiefs are now 2-11 on the season.

Piqua’s Devon Parshall defeated Tyler Frantz 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, the Indians’ Josh Hanes tripped up Adam Verbsky 7-5, 6-1 at second singles and Tyler Lacey beat Bellefontaine’s Isaiah Brady 6-3, 6-3 at third singles.

Bellefontaine’s first doubles team of Max Wilcoxon and Mason Bailey was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Andrew Lamphan and Luke Hanes, while the Chiefs’ second doubles team of Min Lin and Dean Smith dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Jarod Haney and Jason Contrell.
