With one of the top pitchers in the Central Buckeye Conference on its roster, Bellefontaine plans to take full advantage of its ace this spring.

Senior right-hander Cody Lyons picked up his CBC-leading third victory Thursday with a two-hit shutout as the host Chiefs blanked Greenon 7-0.

Bellefontaine is now 5-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Lyons started and threw three innings of two-hit ball in Bellefontaine’s win over Stebbins on Tuesday.

Two days later, Lyons was again on top of his game. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

“There is no question that Cody is our go-to guy,” said BHS head coach Art Caudill. “He needs to be out there more if we want to accomplish our goals as a team. We are going to get him as many opportunities as possible while doing our best to keep him healthy.”
