Northwestern’s boys tennis team swept host Bellefontaine 5-0 on Thursday in a Central Buckeye Conference contest.
The loss drops the Chieftains to 0-3 on the season.
In first singles action, Bellefontaine’s Tyler Frantz lost to Zach Petticrew 6-1, 6-1, while the second singles match saw the Chiefs’ Adam Verbsky fall to Jason Demeter 6-0, 6-0.
Bellefontaine’s Adam Verbsky dropped a third singles match to Nathan Clark 6-1, 6-2.
The Chieftains’ first doubles team of Max Wilcoxon and Isaiah Brady lost to Jacoby Wildofsky and Tristen Deel 6-2, 6-2. The second doubles squad of Mason Bailey and Min Lin fell to Tyler Diamond and Brett Siemon 6-0, 6-1.
In junior varsity action, Derek Markley and Alex German fell in doubles action 8-0 and Josh Kruetzer and Michael Coakley also lost in doubles action 8-1.
Bellefontaine hosts Northeastern today in non-league action.
