WL-Salem girls win Bellefontaine Relays

West Liberty-Salem’s girls junior high track and field team recently won the Bellefontaine Chieftain Relays. The Tigers edged out Springfield Shawnee 75-71 to claim the eight-team meet title. Bellefontaine clipped Benjamin Logan 55-54 to finish third, while Calvary Christian came in eighth with six points.

Graham won the boys meet with 71.5 points. Urbana finished second with 58 points over Sidney, who was close behind in third with 55 points. The Chieftain boys were fourth with 49 points, the Raiders were fifth with 47 points and the Tigers were sixth with 38.5 points. Calvary Christian finished eighth with 16 points.

The Tiger girls were sparked by first-place finishes from the 3,200 relay of Kaylee Harrison, Reghan Bieleski, Sarah Painter and Taylor Lauck (12:00.6) and the long jump relay of Rachel McGill and Anna Louden.
