Benjamin Logan’s baseball team earned a convincing win on opening day Monday as the Raiders rolled to a 13-3 victory over host North Union.
The Wildcats held a 2-0 lead over the Raiders until the fifth inning, when Ben Logan plated four runs to take a 4-2 advantage.
The Raiders, who finished the game with 12 hits, added two more runs in the top of the sixth for a 6-2 lead.
North Union tacked on a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 6-3 game, but Ben Logan pulled away for good in the top of the seventh with seven runs.
Offensively for the Raiders, Todd Coleman went 3-5 with an RBI, Tyler Tevis went 2-3 and scored three runs, Tristin Harshfield went 2-3 with two RBI, Zane Collins went 2-4 with three RBI and Brady Bechtel had four RBI.
Austin Cline was the winning pitcher for the Raiders. He recorded nine strikeouts, no walks and gave up five hits.
Ben Logan hosts Jackson Center today.
