Hilliker swimmers compete in Great Lakes championship

The Hilliker Heat swim team wrapped up its winter swim season over the weekend with several of its members competing in the Great Lakes YMCA Zone Championship at Ohio State University in Columbus.

The local contingent was led by Amy Fulmer. Competing in the 11-12 age division, she placed fourth in the 100 backstroke, fifth in the 50 backstroke, 14th in the 100 individual medley, 20th in the 100 freestyle and 28th in the 50 freestyle.

Emily Fulmer (13-14) placed 15th in the 100 butterfly, 41st in the 100 freestyle, 42nd in the 100 backstroke and 53rd in the 50 freestyle.

On the boys side, Skyler Tavenner competed in the senior division and was 14th in the 50 backstroke, 28th in the 50 butterfly and 35th in the 200 backstroke.
