Former Bellefontaine track and field standout Sarah Bechtel accomplished something that had never been done before at the North Coast Athletic Conference indoor track and field championship meet last weekend.
A senior at Ohio Wesleyan, Bechtel won her fourth consecutive NCAC pole vault championship, clearing 11-7 3/4. She became the first woman in NCAC history to win four straight pole vault titles.
Bechtel also placed seventh in the pentathlon and eighth in the 60-meter hurdles.
With the help of Bechtel, OWU won its eighth NCAC team title in a row.
