Bellefontaine befuddled Tippecanoe in a pair of regular-season meetings. The Chiefs will try to make it a clean sweep of the Red Devils in a sectional final showdown tonight.

A trip to the Division II district championship will be on the line when the Chiefs (15-8) and the Red Devils (18-6) clash at 6:30 p.m. at Springfield High School.

Bellefontaine accounted for Tippecanoe’s two most lopsided losses during the regular season. The Chiefs pulled away for a 47-34 victory in Tipp City on Dec. 20 and then blew out their Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division foe 55-31 on Jan. 31 in Bellefontaine.

“Fundamentally, our defense was solid in the first two meetings with Tippecanoe,” said Bellefontaine head coach Henry Stolly, explaining his team’s success in the previous two matchups. “In both games, we had good, balanced scoring and were able to get to the foul line.”
