Pirates unable to run with Redskins

PIQUA — Miscues snowballed on Riverside’s boys basketball team here Wednesday as Ft. Loramie pulled away for a 53-27 victory in a Division IV sectional semifinal game.

“Things got away from us tonight,” said Riverside head coach Daniel Hickman. “We don’t usually give up that many points. I felt we played a great defensive game, though. A lot of their points came off of turnovers and points in transition.

“Give Ft. Loramie all the credit. They played a great defensive game and put a lot of pressure on us. We handled it decently for about a quarter and a half. Then it caught up with us in the second half.”
