Revenge tastes sweet for Chiefs

BHS avenges regular-season loss to Urbana with win in sectional tourney Tuesday

SPRINGFIELD — Bellefontaine beat Urbana at its own game here Tuesday night.

The top-seeded Hillclimbers, who came in with the best statistical defense in the Central Buckeye Conference, were flustered from the start by a Bellefontaine defensive unit that showed a variety of looks.

Bellefontaine led the entire night, fighting off a late rally by the Hillclimbers for a 45-40 victory in a Division II sectional semifinal at Springfield High School.

“We tried to change up our defenses so they could not get into an offensive flow,” said Bellefontaine head coach Henry Stolly. “We wanted to keep them off-guard. I think our different defensive looks threw them off a little bit.”
