SPRINGFIELD — This time, Indian Lake did not need a late comeback to beat Kenton Ridge.

The Lakers, who overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to pull out a regular-season win over the Cougars on Tuesday, took control late in the third period in Saturday’s rematch and held on the rest of the way for a 54-43 victory in a Division II boys sectional tournament game at Springfield High School.
“I thought our persistence was the difference in the game,” said Indian Lake head coach David Starr. “We had to weather some storms. The effort was there for four quarters, and that was big. We’ve been preaching that all year.”
