Lakers push nine wrestlers through to district meet

TIPP CITY — There were a few surprises and some big wins here Saturday to kick off the postseason for Indian Lake’s wrestling team.

The Lakers advanced nine wrestlers and finished second overall at the Division II Tippecanoe 1 sectional site. The top four in each weight class qualified to this weekend’s district meet.

“All our upperclassmen performed the way they should have,” said Indian Lake head coach Scott Tressler. “We were pleased with how we did. We placed 11 of 12 guys in the top five, are sending nine guys to the district meet and have two alternates.
