Chiefs’ Jazmyn Haley reaches 1,000 points in win over Indians

The script could not have been written any better.

In her final home game on a night when she was honored before the contest along with her sister as the team’s two seniors, Jazmyn Haley entered elite company in the Bellefontaine girls basketball program Saturday.

Haley, a 5-10 forward, became just the seventh BHS girl to score 1,000 points in her career in Bellefontaine’s 48-34 victory over visiting Stebbins.

“This feels amazing,” said Haley after the game. “I had no idea I was even close to getting 1,000 points. I didn’t know until (BHS athletic director Matt Comstock) put it on Twitter two days ago.”

The last BHS girl to reach the 1,000-point club was 2005 graduate Danielle LaBatt.
