ST. PARIS — For a league as tough as the Central Buckeye Conference, winning more than one individual wrestling title is a rare feat.

Indian Lake senior Heath Lange did what no other local wrestler has done since the league was reconfigured in 2000, and that was win his third CBC conference title here Saturday at Graham High School.

Several local wrestlers have won two, but none have won three. Lange is also a four-time league finalist, finishing second his freshman season to Graham’s Micah Jordan, who is a virtual lock to win his fourth state title this March.

A pin in the finals Saturday over the Falcons’ Garrett Jordan puts Lange in a club all his own as far as local wrestling is concerned.

“It is a great way to start off the postseason,” said Lange. “I don’t train for the CBC meet, though. I am focused on March and the state tournament.”
