With point guard Brenda Johnson returning from an injury suffered in mid-December, the Chiefs picked up their most impressive win of the season by beating visiting Tecumseh 62-54 in a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division game.
Bellefontaine is now 9-10 overall and 4-5 in league play. Tecumseh, who beat Bellefontaine by 18 points in the earlier matchup, is now 14-5, 4-5.
“This was a big game for us,” said BHS head coach Brian Hogan. “I was proud of the girls for the way they stepped up and finished strong in a big-game situation. We needed a win like this going into the tournament draw and into the tournament, and the girls went out and got the job done.”
