WL-Salem boys starting to put it all together

West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team delivered such a win on Tuesday, and hopes to carry that momentum over Friday in a trip to Springfield Catholic Central.

The Tigers (6-9, 5-3) are coming off a big 52-49 win over Greeneview on Tuesday. That win was just what the doctor ordered, according to WL-Salem head coach Darrin Leichty.

“Our win Tuesday is a confidence booster for our game against Springfield Catholic Central,” said Leichty. “Our guys feel good and the energy has been fantastic the past couple of games.”

WL-Salem grabbed a big lead early on against the Irish (4-5, 3-4) when the two squads meet earlier this year and the Tigers rolled to a 60-51 victory.

“Catholic Central is not an easy place to play at,” said Leichty. “They have an old-school gym that makes it difficult to play in. SCC will also have a few guys back they didn’t have the first time we played.”
