A sickening feeling deep in the pit of their stomach would best describe how Indian Lake’s wrestling team felt Wednesday night.

The top-seeded Lakers were stunned by fifth-seeded St. Marys Memorial 37-34 in their home gym during their first match in the Division II state dual tournament.

“For some of these guys, this result was indicative of how they practiced,” said Indian Lake head coach Scott Tressler. “Some of these guys have wrestled (poor) all week at practice and that is what we got tonight. Wrestling is a ‘next man up’ sport and we didn’t get the job done.”
