Indian Lake’s wrestling team continued its tough schedule Friday and Saturday at the Maumee Bay Classic.
The Lakers gave a very respectable performance by placing three wrestlers and finishing 10th out of 36 teams.
Delta, which was the Division III state runner-up last season, edged host Oregon Clay 228.5-227.5 to win the tournament. Perry, the Division II state runner-up last winter, came in third with 194 points. The Lakers had 91.5 points.
Indian Lake’s Heath Lange (145) and Reyse Wallbrown (152) both placed third and L.J. Henderson (170) finished fifth.
Lange recorded three pins before he was upset in the semifinals by freshman standout Jesse Beverly of Delta by a 7-4 decision. The Laker bounced back with a pin and then beat Derek Kuhlman of Lima Shawnee 6-3 to finish third.
