Riverside’s boys basketball team found its groove in the second half against host Waynesfield-Goshen and ran away with a 53-39 victory Friday in Northwest Central Conference play.
The Pirates move to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the NWCC, while the Tigers fall to 0-8, 0-2.
“We got a little exposed in the first half,” said RHS head coach Daniel Hickman. “We were still in Christmas break mode.
“Waynesfield had 17 points on us in the first quarter and we were sluggish. Then we picked it up and held them to 12 points the entire second half. I credit our guys for picking it up and finishing strong.”
