Offensive player of the year
Trent McIntyre, Triad
A sophomore, McIntyre led Triad to the school’s first undefeated regular season and an Ohio Heritage Conference championship before getting hurt in the team’s first-round playoff game. McIntyre finished with 2,137 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for 798 yards and 16 touchdowns with a 7.2 per carry average. He scored a team-best 102 points. McIntyre earned third-team all-Ohio honors, was named first-team all-Southwest district and was the Ohio Heritage Conference player of the year.
Defensive player of the year
L.J. Henderson, Indian Lake
A senior, Henderson repeated as a first-team all-Southwest District selection after another gritty campaign on the gridiron. At linebacker, he led the entire Central Buckeye Conference in tackles with 122. He recorded double digits in tackles in all but three of the Lakers’ games. Henderson also notched one sack, forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble. He closed out his career by being named to the all- Ohio special mention list for the second time.
