Chiefs tune up their outside shooting to trip up Tigers

Bellefontaine’s girls basketball team on Thursday showed it can beat teams from the outside as well as the inside.

The Chiefs, who possess one of the best front courts in the Central Buckeye Conference with the duo of senior forwards Kameren and Jazmyn Haley, knocked down a season-best five three-pointers in a 51-39 victory over host West Liberty-Salem.

“They are too physical and quick inside for us to match up with them man-to-man,” said WL-Salem head coach Dennis McIntosh. “We felt like our best bet was to play zone and make them shoot it outside. They had been struggling shooting the ball from the outside, but they didn’t tonight.”
