Battling inexperience and youth, Benjamin Logan’s wrestling team pulled out a close win over Triad at home Thursday, but were edged by Marion Pleasant in a tight tri-match.

The Raiders started off with a 39-27 win over the Cardinals, but were clipped by the Spartans 30-27.
Ben Logan standout Beau Swank (220) was the only BL wrestler to go 2-0 on the night, while 1-1 performances came from Wyatt Prince (106), Tyler Thomas (120), Caleb Houser (126), Joe Mitchell (132), Russ Hites (152), Hunter Johnston (160), Ryan Sheeley (170) and Dalton McCurdy (285).
“Beau wrestled well,” said Ben Logan head coach Tony Grant. “Hunter Johnston showed improvement. Caleb Houser wrestled very tough. Russ Hites and Ryan Sheeley both wrestled well, but came up on the short end of the stick.
“We are so inexperienced it can get frustrating for everyone. We just have to keep working hard.”
Ben Logan takes a short break and is back in action Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Springfield Catholic Invitational.
