Entering the season with high praise and even higher expectations, Indian Lake’s wrestling team didn’t disappoint Thursday at the Logan County tri-meet.

As the heavy favorite to win both duals at Bellefontaine High School, the Lakers made good on those odds by going 2-0 for the second straight year. They swept Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan in commanding fashion.

The Lakers handled the host Chieftains 54-21 and thumped the Raiders 57-19.

Even more impressive was that the Lakers won 20 of a possible 26 matches, including 14 pins. One of the losses came on a medical default.

“We went in expecting to perform well and the guys didn’t fail to disappoint,” said Indian Lake head coach Scott Tressler. “It was a good start to the season for us.”
