Indian Lake trailed by nine points entering the fourth quarter, but used a big comeback to beat host Springfield Shawnee on Wednesday 57-52.
The Lady Lakers improve to 3-1 on the season.
“It seemed like we had to play catch-up all night,” said Indian Lake head coach Tim McMahon. “Nothing went our way, but the girls kept fighting and never gave up. The girls found a way to win the game.”
Both teams wore a path to the free-throw line. The Lakers shot 47 foul shots and Shawnee attempted 30 free throws.
Indian Lake made 27 of its attempts.
“Haley Boberg was huge for us in the fourth quarter,” said McMahon. “We had two of our guards foul out and she did a good job taking the ball to the basket. She shot 14 free throws in the fourth quarter.”
