Riverside handles Emmanuel Christian

A standout defensive effort helped lead Riverside to a 53-33 victory over visiting Emmanuel Christian on Tuesday in non-league action.

The Pirates are now 2-1 on the season.

“We played great defensively,” said RHS head coach Daniel Hickman. “That is what we like to do and the guys really executed that tonight. We gave up 11 points in the first quarter, but after that it was all single digits for the remaining quarters.

“We were also able to create turnovers and score in transition. That was another big key for us. Kolt Shough played a big role in doing that for us.”
