Swank leads Raiders in season opener at Franklin Invitational


Benjamin Logan’s wrestling team opened the season with a seventh-place finish at the Franklin Invitational on Saturday in a strong 10-team field.

Ross won the tournament with 326 points, crowing two champions and four second-place finishers. Dayton Christian came in second with 291.5 points and Campbell County (Kentucky) was third with 287 points. The Raiders tallied 156 points for their seventh-place effort.

Highlighting Ben Logan’s performance was senior standout Beau Swank, who finished second at 220 pounds. He lost to defending Kentucky state champion Austin Myers 10-5 in the championship match.

“I was pleased with Beau,” said Ben Logan head coach Tony Grant. “He wrestled Myers very tough.”
