WL-Salem downs South Vienna

West Liberty-Salem’s seventh-and-eighth grade girls basketball teams dropped South Vienna in recent Ohio Heritage Conference matchups.

The Tigers won the eighth-grade contest 37-16, while the seventh-grade team held on for a 35-30 victory.

Paige Shafer led the WL-Salem eighth-grade team with 17 points.

The seventh-grade squad saw Peyton Kerns tally 15 points and Hallie Strapp score 10 points.

Triad sweeps Miami View

Triad’s seventh- and-eighth grade girls basketball teams both recently picked up wins over Miami View.

The Cardinals won the eighth-grade game 32-28 and the seventh-grade team won 31-18.

Alea Ferguson led the Triad eighth-graders with 16 points, while Audrey Lightie and Kaitlynn Pence each had six points.

The Triad seventh-graders were paced by Makenzie Cauley with 12 points and Shelby Sheets with eight points.

Red Devils drop Raiders

Benjamin Logan’s junior high girls basketball teams fell to Tippecanoe in recent action.

The Red Devils held on to win 39-36 in the eighth-grade game and Tipp City won the seventh-grade contest 43-4.

Nikki Current led the Ben Logan eighth-graders with 26 points.
