BL girls fall short against North Union in season opener

North Union grabbed an early lead and was able to hold off visiting Benjamin Logan for a 33-27 victory Saturday in a non-league season opener.

The teams were tied 12-12 at the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats scored the only three points in the second quarter to take a 15-12 lead at halftime.

North Union outscored Ben Logan 10-6 in the third quarter to open up a 25-18 advantage.

The Raiders clipped the Wildcats 9-8 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to catch the host team.

Jessica Sosby and Shelby Kramer each had seven points and Taylor Quay had six points to pace the Raiders.

Ben Logan hosts Kenton on Tuesday in non-league action.
