Triad was awarded for its perfect regular season by getting the top seed in its region for the Division VII football playoffs.
The Cardinals (10-0) host fellow Ohio Heritage Conference member Cedarville (7-3) at 7 p.m. Saturday. The contest will be a rematch from a regular-season game in which the Cardinals won 21-7.
West Liberty-Salem is back in the playoffs for the third straight year and for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
As the sixth seed in Division VI, Region 22, the Tigers (8-2) received a first-round matchup against host Williamsburg (7-3) at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Williamsburg is located in Clermont County.
The top eight teams in each region advanced to the playoffs, with the top four squads hosting first-round games. After the first round, games will be played at neutral sites.
More on the Tigers’ and Cardinals’ playoff games can be seen later this week in the Examiner.
