Every athlete reaches that day when he or she has to hang up the uniform for the final time. Michael Morgan thought that moment had come for him.
A former high school baseball standout at Indian Lake, Morgan’s dream of playing professionally took him to California earlier this year. After playing in an independent league there during January and February, he returned to Logan County unsure of his baseball future.
“I’ve been working on finishing up my master’s degree,” said Morgan. “I worked with the Logan County Cooperative this summer and I have been doing some substitute teaching. I really did not have any serious baseball offers, so I figured that when I finished up my master’s in a couple months I would have to go out and find a real job.”
Then, his plans suddenly changed.
