Bellefontaine netters slip to Springfield Shawnee

Bellefontaine’s girls tennis team dropped its match to host Springfield Shawnee 3-2 on Tuesday.

Winning for the Chiefs were Hannah Weimer at second singles and Hannah Vance at third singles.

Weimer prevailed 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 over Ellie Marshall, while Vance defeated Sadie DeWitt 6-2, 6-4.

At first singles, the Braves’ Ellen Smith won 6-2, 6-2 over Kiersten Daum.

Shawnee’s Rebecca Jeanerette and Rebecca McConkey won 6-0, 6-0 over Jenna Champion and Debbie McClain at first doubles.

Sprinfield Shawnee also picked up a forfeit win at second doubles.
