Raiders hang on to beat Chiefs

Benjamin Logan’s girls soccer team escaped with a 1-0 win over host Bellefontaine on Wednesday in a local Central Buckeye Conference showdown.

The win moves the Raiders to 5-2-2 on the season, while the Chieftains slip to 2-3-1.

In a tightly contested first half, neither team was able to find the back of the net as both defenses held up to keep it scoreless at the break.

“Our defense has been bolstered this year by the addition of two young and aggressive center backs in the form of Hayley Boysel and Kaylene Harpest,” said Ben Logan girls head coach Ryan Kerns. “They have allowed us to find balance in a number of situations that would have brought a good deal of grief in the past.”
