West Liberty-Salem’s boys and girls junior high cross country teams both recently won the Logan County meet at Southview Park in Bellefontaine.
The Tiger boys won with 36 points, the Chieftains were second with 42 points and the Raiders came in third with 56 points.
In the girls race, WL-Salem won with 33 points, Ben Logan was second with 47 points, Bellefontaine took third with 51 points and Indian Lake was fourth with 86 points.
WL-Salem’s boys had all four of their runners finish in the top 13 of the race. For the Tigers, Isaac Smith was second (14:18), Jordan Lewis was seventh (15:07), Richard Godwin was 12th (15:27) and Gabe Lewis was 13th (15:41).
Bellefontaine’s Dominic Wilson won the boys race with a time of 12:51, while Michael Horvath was third (14:18) and Jacob Karg was eighth (15:12). Also for BMS, Logan Lamb was 19th (16:46), Trey Henderson was 22nd (17:24), Gage Buffkin was 26th (20:53) and Weston Rose was 27th (22:12).
Daniel McPherson led Ben Logan in fourth (no time available), with top 10 finishes also coming from Landon Wenger in ninth (15:14) and Peter Gelett in 10th (15:25). Other high finishes came from Zane Scheiderer in 11th (no time available), Jaque Beaschler in 14th (15:47), Logan Phillips in 16th (no time available) and Christian Blumenschein in 18th (16:38).
Rounding out the rest of the Raiders were Nolan Pelger in 21st (17:22), Ryan Spatz in 23rd (18:01), Nathan Beikman in 24th (20:47), Landyn Inglis in 25th (no time available) and Joel Doss in 28th (22:23).

Raider squads roll past Warriors
Benjamin Logan’s seventh- and eighth-grade football teams rolled past Northwestern in recent Central Buckeye Conference games.
The Raiders’ eighth-grade team won 34-6 and the seventh-grade squad rolled to a 46-0 victory.
For Ben Logan’s eighth-grade team, Presten Cozad had a rushing touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown, while Cole Waugh added two rushing touchdowns. Grant Ward had a receiving touchdown and a two-point conversion. Derek Coy added a two-point conversion.
