Lakers rallied for dramatic comeback in last year’s meeting
In high-profile boxing matches, a popular saying is “The money is in the rematch.”
Money won’t be on the line Friday when Triad’s football team travels to Indian Lake, but this rematch of last year’s season-opening thriller carries huge implications.
Fireworks and jaw-dropping plays can be expected after last fall’s meeting saw Indian Lake rally to score three unanswered touchdowns to win 40-33.
There are high expectations surrounding both teams this fall. The winner of Friday’s game, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Indian Lake, will get a big boost in its quest for a special season.
“It is huge for both teams,” said Triad head coach Payton Printz. “Many computer points can be earned with a victory for either school.
“Indian Lake is eager to get to the playoffs for the first time in school history and they may just have the team to accomplish that goal. A victory over a Division IV team like them will head us in the right direction.”
