Chiefs take down Tigers in local battle

Bellefontaine’s volleyball squad grabbed a win over host West Liberty-Salem in four sets Monday.

The Chiefs won by scores of 25-15, 24-26, 25-16, 25-17 in a local non-league contest.

Bellefontaine is now 4-0 on the season.

Kenzie Brunswick sparked BHS with 12 kills, 15 digs and two solo blocks, while Kameren Haley had 10 kills and five aces. Jazmyn Haley also played a strong match with nine kills, 10 digs and two solo blocks.

Also for the Chiefs, Jordan Lininger had 11 digs and 29 assists and Carley Strzalka went 19-19 serving with 11 digs.

For WL-Salem, Jamie Peterson recorded 13 kills, Kylee Hormann had eight kills and Kylie Gilroy added 21 assists.

In junior varsity action, the Chieftains rallied to win 20-25, 30-28, 25-9. The Tigers saw Emily Schultz record eight kills and Kiana Reames record seven assists.

Bellefontaine travels to Stebbins today for Central Buckeye Conference action and WL-Salem hosts Northeastern in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
