Bellefontaine boys shoot past Ben Logan, Urbana

Bellefontaine’s varsity boys golf team defeated Benjamin Logan and Urbana in a Central Buckeye Conference tri-match at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

The Chiefs, who are now 42-8 on the season, fired a 157. Urbana was next with 175 and Ben Logan had a 180.

Bellefontaine’s Cody Lyons was the medalist with a 36. Nate Langenfeld and Connor Adelsberger each had 40, Cody Hullinger shot 41 and Jarrett Beck and Devin Fowler added 45s.

Ben Logan was led by Grant Ricketts with a 40. Garrett Dunn and T.J. Fink had 46s, Tanner Rader and Colin Headings each had 48s and Alex Bickham had a 53.

In junior varsity action, Bellefontaine won over Urbana 201-211. Grant Brown led the Chiefs with a 43. Javon Warner had a 46 and Josiah Jester had a 55.

WL-Salem upends Rams

West Liberty-Salem’s boys golf team beat host Greeneview 156-179 in an Ohio Heritage Conference match at Sebastian Hills on Tuesday.

The Tigers’ Nick Sims was match medalist with a 36. He was followed by Ethan McBean with a 39, Jacob Rutan with a 40, Kannon Stillings with a 41, Casey Gay with a 43 and Dillon Callicoat with a 47.

The Tigers are now 2-0 in OHC play.

In the junior varsity match, WL-Salem won with a 213. Trevor Davis led the Tigers with a 48. Logan Brown finished with a 53, Michael Frederick had a 55 and Jake Woodruff added 57.

Triad gets win

Triad’s golf team won over Cedarville 212-267 at Woodland Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Cardinals are now 1-1 in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

Triad was led by medalist Seth Donohoe with a 37. He was followed by Summer Detrick with a 51, Kole Smith with 59, Macy Linscott with a 65 and Braxton Perry with a 69.

“It was really nice to see the team get a victory tonight,” said Triad coach Patrick Johnson. “Seth played a strong round, especially around the greens.”

GIRLS GOLF

Indian Lake girls set another school record

Indian Lake’s girls golf team improved on its nine-hole school record with a 171 on Tuesday at Cherokee Hills, but it was not quite enough as visiting Tippecanoe won with a 163.

Sean Pusey paced the Lakers with a 38 and Kylie Speicher was close behind with a 40. Morgan Barnett shot 41, Murphy Oberle had a 52 and Ashley Wall contributed a 55.

Tippecanoe’s Lindsey Murray was the medalist with a 35.

Bellefontaine tops Riverside

Bellefontaine’s girls golf team defeated Riverside 206-212 in non-league action Tuesday.

For the Chiefs, Chelsea McLaughlin was the medalist with a 44. Allie Skelly shot a 53, Kathleen Coakley had a 54, Emily Fulmer contributed a 55 and Sarah Hall added a 56.
