Local girls sink Minster in dual meet

The Bellefontaine parks and recreation summer swim team had another successful meet last week as the girls squad defeated Minster and several swimmers set new team records.

Bellefontaine beat Minster 113.5-94.5 in the girls meet, but the Marlins took the boys meet 167-110.

Two individuals and three relays teams set new records at the meet. Skyler Tavenner set marks in the 13-14 age group in the 50 freestyle (24.03) and 100 individual medley (1:01.84) and Macy Arn set records in the 11-12 age group in the 25 butterfly (13.77) and 100 individual medley (1:08.45).

The 11-12 age group saw records set by the girls 100 medley relay of Amy Fulmer, Lauren Barthauer, Shelby Starkey and Macy Arn (1:02.9) and the 100 freestyle relay of Fulmer, Barthauer, Starkey and Arn (56.94).

The girls 13-14 100 medley relay also set a new mark with the group of Molly Schultz, Megan Barthauer, Shelbi Moore and Emily Fulmer (2:08.45).
