Bellefontaine’s 14-and-under tournament team won the 15-andunder division of the Jim Mohr Memorial Tournament last weekend in Tipp City. The Bellefontaine Chieftains 10-and-under travel team won the David Zerkle Memorial Classic in St. Paris last weekend. Huntsville takes third at county tourney

Huntsville Fast Track Signs recently placed third at the Logan County coach pitch tournament and finished the regular season undefeated at 8-0.

LITTLE LEAGUE

EL-M wins two games

East Liberty-Middleburg won a pair of recent Little League games to improve its record to 14-3.

EL-M beat Washington 6-5 and won over Zanesfield 7-5.

In the win over Washington, Noah Wilcoxon, Ben Whitten and Taggart Beatty combined on a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Sam Knight had a single to bring in two runs in the sixth inning for the EL-M win.

Kawalec and McClellan had the hits for Washington.

Against Zanesfield, Wilcoxon, Knight and Whitten combined for 10 strikeouts on the mound.

Gavin Wynn, Nathan Beikman and Whitten each had two hits in the victory.

Cole Bibart had a double for Zanesfield.

Huntsville Thunder takes third in tourney

The Huntsville Thunder baseball team finished in third place in the 12-and-under division in the David Zerkle Memorial tournament last weekend in St. Paris.

The Thunder won three games Saturday and then fell to Bellefontaine on Sunday.

Ethan Mouser, Matt Kawalec, Austin Elshauser, Anthony Snapp, Dillon Welch, Cole Comstock, Seth Shields, Adrian Ramos, Caleb Taylor and Cole McKinley all had several hits to lead the Thunder’s offense.

Bellefontaine squad wins in St. Paris

Bellefontaine’s 10-and-under travel baseball team won the David Zerkle Memorial Classic in St. Paris last weekend.

In pool play, Bellefontaine lost to Triad 3-2 in 8 innings and lost to Buckeye Valley 8-1. In tournament play the Chiefs stormed back by defeating Graham 13-3. Doing the pitching were Brian Bush and Connor Rose. 

Bellefontaine defeated Buckeye Valley 3-2 in the semifinals and beat Triad 11-1 in the finals. Ethan Moore and Jarrid Baughman combined for 18 strikeouts in the two games.

Offensively for the tournament, Moore had an over-the-fence home run and two doubles, Jarrid Baughman had a triple and three doubles and Aden Downing, Connor Rose, Jeremy Baughman and Doby Orahood each hit a double.

The Chiefs have won four tournaments this season.

Chieftains claim title in Tipp City

The Bellefontaine Chieftains 14-and-under tournament team won the 15-and-under division of the Jim Mohr Memorial in Tipp City last weekend.

Bellefontaine defeated Vandalia and Kettering in pool play. In bracket play, Bellefontaine won three more games and beat Bethel 11-1 in the final.  

In the championship game, Cole Braun struck out nine to get the win in five innings. Hayes Roebuck and Sam Martz each had three hits including a triple by Martz, while Chase Braun had a double and a single. Ryan Sebring also had two hits.

Bellefontaine won two tournaments and made the championship game of every tourney they played in this season.
