A three-way battle for first place helped add some major excitement to the conclusion of the Wendy’s Classic at Liberty Hills Golf Club on Thursday.
Sagamore Hills’ Brett Brown won a playoff against local standouts to win the boys 16-18 age division with a score of 74. Nick Sims, a standout for West Liberty-Salem, and Blaine Ricketts, a standout and recent graduate of Benjamin Logan, also recorded 74s, but lost in the playoff to Brown.
Bellefontaine’s Travis Fowler was two strokes back with a 76, Dublin’s Austen Hayden carded a 79, Urbana’s Jacob Rutan had an 80, Woodstock’s Seth Donohoe shot an 82, Ostrander’s Colin Dawson had an 86, Urbana’s Casey Gay carded a 92, Bellefontaine’s Erik Weeks had a 99 and Zanesfield’s T.J. Fink had a 102.
