Benjamin Logan eighth-grade student Coreen Crosby recently competed at the Worthington Summer Track Classic and finished second in the heptathlon in the 15-16 age group.
The heptathlon is a competition that includes seven events over two days scored by points using times and distances.
Crosby took second with 2,874 points, which was 36 points behind first place. On the first day, Crosby competed in the 100 hurdles (18.3), the high jump (4-3 1/4), the shot put (24-5 3/4) and the 200 (30.1). On the second day she competed in the long jump (13-11 3/4), the javelin (73-6) and the 800 (2:50.0).
The Raiders’ Aaron Crosby, a freshman and brother of Coreen, also competed in four individual events in the 15-16 age group. He won the javelin (88-10) and the high jump (5-7), was sixth in the 200 (24.01) and was eighth in the 100.
