Bellefontaine Acme squad opens season with win

The Bellefontaine Easton Water Solutions Acme baseball team rolled to a 15-4 five inning win over Triad in the season opener for both teams Monday night.

Jarrod Houchin homered, doubled and drove in three runs to power Bellefontaine in the victory.

Joe Oliver had a triple and scored three runs and Nick Burton added a double for Easton Water.

Oliver earned the win on the mound, allowing four hits, three walks and striking out seven in four innings of work.

Nick Burton added a scoreless inning of relief.

Bellefontaine led 4-1 after two innings. Triad scored three runs in the top of the third to tie the game, but Bellefontaine came back with an eight-run explosion in the bottom of the third to grab a 12-4 lead.

Easton Water tacked on three more runs in the fourth.

Bellefontaine (1-0) plays at Piqua tonight.
